There I was met by some gypsies, cheersleaders, 3 chippendales, 4 American footballers, captain Jean Luc Pickard and an Alien. That's right - it's fancy dress - Libyan ex-pat style!
I am a Libyan living in the west, I read all of your posts and all i could find is complaints about Libya & its people which is something as you know very well the British are good at yet if i critisie anything here in the west i simply get told to leave and g back to my country. your life oe not seem that bad in Libya, parties, nudity and possibly alcohol (naughty naughty) is there anything at all you like about Libya? i come and go between Libya & UK and its not as bad as you make it. believe me westerners get a lot of respect in Libya which is a lot more than what Libyans get in the west. enjoy your time in Libya, complaining always ruins holidays & work experiences of any British people. good luck. i loved your blog, very entertaining. I just wanted to say hi and present you with a project I’m working on, that goes by the name: Libyan Mental TV. I would love to get your feedback.
Please take most of the things written on this blog with a LARGE pinch of salt. It is meant as a (humourous?) report back to my friends and family back home in the UK not a social commetary.
Individually, Libyans are some of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of meeting. Unfortunately, put them in a car and you have a different story. This fascinates me and hence my blog.
I of course appologise for any offence but please don't take it personally.
Regarding your comments about British arrogance - you are of course 100% correct!
